Prepping for life in Sydney. 19-20.04.2008

Drummoyne is a seriously nice place to waste time in. It's got a beautiful coastline with shopping and all. Totally unlike Bondi beach where girls wear almost nothing to hook guys who wished they wore nothing. Drummoyne is more high end, where most of the people here have their own yacht and their backyard opens to the beach. cool or what. Anyway, I spent the week house hunting and I finally found one. It's an apartment opposite my school. Two rooms, one bath, one living and a balcony. If you guys want to visit, please inform me early k. Then I can advise you on what to bring and what not to bring. :D Feel free to visit me!

On our way to Roseby street, Drummoyne. Beautiful place.
Habourbreeze Lodge, my temporary holding place. Don't stay here peeps. It is my personal opinion. Looks nice on the outside, rotting with greed on the inside. You'll be ripped off.
The 2 Taiwanese girls I met here. The one on my right will be studying the same course as me.
House-hunting. Super long queue. It seems that there is a rental-drought in April.
Yeah. I won't be blogging for a while till my new internet arrives! Till then!
End.

My first meal in Sydney. 16.04.08

Arrival in Sydney at 0555. We were sleep-deprived thus very irritable. SIA changed the aircraft last minute to a 747 boeing due to some technical fault on the airbus. Bloody hell. We chose the night flight on purpose to get the airbus. Who likes night flight? And the pre-selected seats got messed up. One angmoh was like: Fucking airline! This airline sucks! haha. yeah, it sucks. Many angry people on the plane that night.

The taxi ride to our Habour Breeze Lodge at Drummoyne took about half an hour and 40 plus dollars (AUD). Taxi fare in Singapore seems so comparatively cheap now. At the lodge, we slept like pigs. Woke up in the afternoon to meet my classmates at Ryde, where my school-to-be is. And, I changed my course to patisserrie. (originally it was cuisine.) :D I still prefer patisserrie.

On the taxi.
Pretty chilly over here. Temperature averages at about 17 degrees celsius.

We got some lunch at a cafe near our place. Cappuccino, banana hazelnut bread and tandoori chicken wrap. My first meal in Sydney tastes great.

Aileen mama wrote me this beautiful poem. Read and comment! :D

You used to be just another girl in class
whom never meant that much to me,
you sat beside me while we slept through glueface and weird wiggies.
But slowly we became great friends,
our friendship made me glad.
I never thought you would become
the friend I never had.

I love having you as a friend,
you make my days brighter.
I'm happy with this friend I've found
who makes my burdens lighter.
Whenever I see you,
it makes me want to smile.
Without you, I don't know where I'd be
but you're still here, friends with me.

You're a beautiful person
with a good heart to lend,
and I want you to know,
you're a really special friend.
You deserve so much more than I can give,
my indecisiveness and tendency to whine
but without you Aileen would probably die.

So never stop being the real and wonderful you
cause greatness shine through in all that you do
and whenever it seems like I'm never there,
remember this: I love you and I'll always care!

Back then, I thought you would stay,
forever you'd be here always.
But now there isn't much time,
it's time for us to say goodbye.

I've got a lot to think about
the way we used to joke and laugh.
I never thought that you would ever
leave so soon.

But now, I know you can't stay
forever we'll be friends always.
But now isn't much time,
it's time to say goodbye.

And where the years take us,
no place is too far,
I will always think of you,
wherever you are.

-by Aileen.

Je suis heureuse. Merci!

Terminal 3

I will continue to blog. That's the main reason for opening this blog in the first place. :D Anyway, I've finally got some time off to blog about the final farewell. It was all very well. We had a large table at Crystal Jade Shanghai. Thank you for taking time off to see me off! I'm touched! I have realised today, that I must really cherish this good an opportunity to learn as much as I can and to grow up. Yes, grow up. My mum told me today to GROW UP! It's hard sniffing out houses here. We found one by luck today. If it becomes my final decision, you guys shall see it. I don't quite like it, but I have to grow up don't I. :D

Please grab the pictures! It takes an awful loong tim to upload them.

The people who came to see me off:

Hejing, Minny, Sooey, Sawee and I.
My family.
My family and relations.
And Jolene, the late-comer.

Kuku veggies plus 1
Yan!
Bon voyage! Aileen mama! I read the letter! I'll publish it another time. Thank you so much for it. I feel like a god now. haha.

Bye!

I go with conflicted emotions. Trepidation and doubt, gaiety and hope. I am not too happy about going there, yet, neither am I terribly depressed. I guess that is why there is a general lack of expression.
.
Dearest all, I bid you a reluctant farewell. See you in about a year.
.
P.S: My skype address is talennyn! Add me!

A dear friends' farewell 11.04.2008

Kuku veggies minus 2. Joee and Tingmei were missing from group. Commitments. Owells, we had fun, loads, without them. The spiderwick chronicles in the afternoon with minny and sooey. Minny is doing well with a GPA of 3.plus plus. sorry i don't recall the exact figure. :P Sooey is doing well too. She recently returned from a fully sponsored exchange programme in Perth. cool or what. haha. It's my turn soon!

We had lunch at Ichiban boshi. And I thought I would never eat Japanese in Singapore again after all the yummy stuff I've tried in Japan. Heidi, Minny and Sooey!

Camera-loving people.

After the movie, we were joined by Sawee and Hejing for dinner! Korean dinner at Crystal Jade, Takashimaya. They sure look stupid in the various poses. haha.

The appetizers came, followed by the shoju, 烧酒. Bleah. The shoju they sell here= ionised alkaline water. Eewww.

On sawee's recommendation, we ordered a set which includes bimbab, ginseng chicken and grilled mackerel. Grilled beef is extra.

Bon appetit!
Kuku veggies minus 2 plus one(hejing).
It's abit weird posing in the toilet like that. It is not unlike an invasion of pubescent, cam-whoring girls that we oh so detest. haha.

Dessert at coffee club~ Muddy mud pie, a public favourite. And a venetian chocolate cake, on minny's insistence.

Appreciating the night view.
Come collect the photos~
End.

A Neighbours' Farewell 08/04/2008

Introducing my neighbours! All whom I spent my childhood playing with. We went through alot together. haha. I absolutely adore their company.

Dinner was cooked by my father. He's a fantastic cook. haha, he calls this sambal kailan. Weird right? But it taste surprisingly good. First dish to be wiped out.
Assam fish. Looks murky but taste great too.
My father's famous sweet sour prawns. As my father is in the seafood industry, I am fed with the best seafood from young. So much that I do make a conscious effort to stay away from seafood as much as possible. However, I now think that I will miss my father's seafood and will probably be looking for the same quality of seafood when I am in Australia. haha. How ironic yeah?
Steamed pomfret. Second to be wiped out.
Fried rice.
After dinner, we decided to go for dessert at Haato at Serangoon Gardens. We managed to persuade Nick to come along. The boys cycled, while we half walked and half bused.
All grown up.
Gayed and beyond. I am surrounded by the gayiest people. At home, in school and at work.
Rochelle and I. Rochelle has the craziest laughter I have ever known. Her laughter has been a constant companion of my ears when I was just a little girl. haha. Can you imagine?

Ermm, what's taking my brother so long to position the camera??
He saw a pretty lady and thus, was too stunned to move. Raging hormones of a teenage kid. haha. :P
From left, Eugene, Nick, Jianda, me and Rochelle. Happy Holidays!
End.
