A truly amazing day.

This morning, we were supposed to go to Pyrmont Market (which is a monthly event) but, alas!, both of us overslept. haha. I woke up at 9am, Stella at 10am, and Pyrmont closes at 11am. What is the point of rushing down to Pyrmont right? With the abilities of Sydney transport, we'll probably be there for the closing of the market. Anyway, it doesn't matter. We had something much more fun than Pyrmont market. We went food hunting. ^^

#1 food hunt: 85 degree celsius. Their cakes look so appealing from the display stand that we were lured into it. Too bad the cakes are -_-".
Hokkaido strawberry shortcake, my foot. Taste dry and bland and cheap. $3.60.
Napoleon that looks like a swiss roll. The puff pastry inside is just too limp and flaccid. Plus, who uses swiss roll material for napoleon? The cream too, it is just sweetened whipped cream. I was so cheated. $3.60.
Cafe latte. Was average. $3.20.
On our way to Glebe street, we stumbled upon this petit little boulagerie and patisserie. They have such good gems. This little shop was packed! with people. We decided to have an organic cola. Best cola I have ever tasted. It makes coca-cola and pepsi taste like medicine. This organic cola is in fact made from the real cola nut in New Zealand. Like super-wow. $4.00.
Yup, that is the bakery. They have loads of sourdough.
We also settled for 2 strawberry creme brulee tart. Absolute delicious. $4.40 each. Bit pricey though.

We walked and walked and we finally made it to Glebe Point Street. :D

We were so lucky! We missed the Pyrmont market and here is another market waiting for us. It turns out that there is a weekend market here every Saturday. They sell some amazing stuff.

Once you enter the market, on your immediate right, you'll see this gypsy owned clothes stall. The lady design her own clothes and get helpers to help her make it. I like her concept. It's like putting scraps into a decent piece of clothing. I like it. Very pro-environment. :)
And, ah.., I blew $60.00 on this stall. haha. This is absolutely delicious too, albeit a little too much salt. Turkish Gozleme with chilli beef. Wow. $9.00.

Opposite the market, there is the famous Sappho Books. They sell books and cafe. Beautiful little area. They have a huge collection of old scores and music materials.

Next to Sappho books is San Churro, top quality spanish chocolates. As much as we'd like to, we didn't try out the chocos. Our stomach is filled with gozleme.

Walk further down the street, you'll come across this cute organic shop. They have all sorts of gadgets that can help to save our planet. For example, turn-your-rubbish-into-fertiliser bin and store-sunlight jar.

Happy, sha-la-la-la. We are waiting for the bus, sha-la-la-la. The bus takes forever, sha-la-la-la.
The stuff which my wallet bled for. Fifteen dollars undies, thirty dollars shirt (bought at the gypsy lady stall) and thirteen dollars-ninety cents plantable cards!

At 6pm, we promptly went to Cynthia's house for dinner. She is so nice! She invited us to try out some Brazilian cuisine. Therefore, from left, we have pastels and cheese breads. Delicious~!

Corn cake with orange syrup and a pie that Cynthia just made up.

And the unbelievably sweeeet degeiiero (I hope I spelt it right). Made from condensed milk and cocoa powder. Two of them and I am killed for the day.

After all the dinner stuff, we do what all girls do, we play dress up. :D That is me in Cynthia's dress. She has many beautiful things from Brazil. Truly amazing. And I liiiike her dress!
Stella's turn at dress-up. Cynthia did the make-up, I did the hair. Stella look so good. I am so proud of myself!
Cynthia, she taught me alot today. Alot. Thank you!
End.

Ma Fleurs.

My little garden by the balcony~ :D I am very happy! My poppy, tomato and coriander are growing really well now. :)

Daffodils. Bought it at Haymarket for ten dollars. They are gorgeous!

End.

Salmon en croute, Beef bourguignon pie, Chicken Vol-au-vents

Ahh, finally, some personal time. I sent my brother to the airport this afternoon. HA! Emanciation from the ninny whinny brat. HE REFUSED TO HUG ME BEFORE HE ENTER THE BOARDING GATE. And I do not forgive him for that. You don't refuse a hug from family, even when you're angry. Anyway, I packed his airbed, vacuumed the house, washed the dishes after I came back from the airport. My room and toilet was filthy. I cannot endure dirt. Dirt belongs to the rubbish bin, not my room, not in the toilet. haha. Oh yes, this morning saw us (my brother, Stella and I) to Town Hall to meet with Seok for a late breakfast. (My brother wanted to meet him as he felt some "sameness" in Seok since they both like photography. -_-) Thank you Seok for treating us to breakfast even though it cost you a bomb! :D

Okay, ermm, these were from Tuesday's lesson. We did Beef Bourguignon Pie, Salmon En Croute and Chicken Vol au Vents with the puff pastries we prepared on Monday. It was really nice to have something savoury once in a while but I really miss sweet stuff now. Where're my cakes, creams and fruit tarts?!

From left: Salmon en croute (that basically means salmon on crust in french. Fish shape= salmon pie. Chef Karin's version of nemo, which is pretty far from the real thing but it too is cute), Beef bourguignon pie (lean beef cubes stewed in red wine for about 1 hour. A very french filling for a very Australian dish) and Chicken vol au vents (with the all-important parsleyyyy).

My vol au vents without the chicken because I ate them all! Nah...we didn't make it because of time constraint. :C

My version of beef pie. I call it dog food pie since the fillings so resembles what Vicky used to eat. (I miss Vicky!)
Ma salmon en croute. C'est pas bon. Don't know if i said it right. It taste good and all but it has too much puff pastry on it because of some silly mistake I did. Owell, shit happens.
After class, we had a lecture on the different kinds of fats you can use in baking, I didn't attend the full thing though because I had to go meet Roneel and Naomi for dinner. They were so nice! They invited us for dinner so that they could bring my brother for some Sydney sights. Actually the original plan was to meet early for the sights then go for dinner. (And I was supposed to skip the lecture.) But because my brother insisted on going for the lecture, so I pushed the meeting time back. Sorry for the inconvenience! We had a good time anyway. :D

After a very large dinner of 煮炒, we ran to circular quay to catch a ferry back to Roneel and Naomi's place. We ran on a very full stomach to miss the ferry in the end. Hallelujah. No worries, we can always catch the next one. So, yup. Ferry sights.

Sydney Opera House , nicely blurred. The theme park which is more suited as the setting for Ju-on 4. -_- I really don't see how people can actually design and build this scary face as the entrance of a theme park. -Luna park
In the end, we reached home at 10.15pm. Thank you Naomi and Roneel for the ride and the Japanese language materials! I was sooo tired. Morning- school, afternoon- lecture, evening- dinner, the next morning- school again (at 7.30am!). I need redbull.

End.

Edward, my Edward.

Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!

I watched me first musical in Sydney, and it's at the Sydney Opera House!

It was fantastic, straight-forward and goddamn touching. I teared.

No words spoken, no songs sung but it was still great. The best silent musical I have ever endured.

It was EDWARD SCISSORHANDS that I watched. Directed by the great Tim Burton.

Fish Market

We woke up at 10am after the potluck. haha. A new late for us. Anyway, we got to the Sydney Fish Market today. Took a bus to Town Hall and walked all the way there. Beautiful day, beautiful weather. Perfect for walking. :D

A lazy Saturday.
Two very different peace!
Awww. so sweet.
A half an hour walk. Fish market don't sell much fish. It sells more of restaurants.
Stella ordered a seafood platter.
My brother insisted on beer-battered barramundi with chips. $9.50. I bet he is going to fall sick the minute he gets back to Singapore.
That is mine. Shared with all. Pacific oysters. $8.00. Not too bad, it is fresh at least but no taste. I had a tuna belly sushi too. That is baaddd.

Bleaaaahhhh.
This is the kuku pelican that we saw in the parking lots.
My brother can walk on water... o.OEnd.
