Yobuko-Kyoto Day 5

On day 5, we make our perilous journey from yobuko to kyoto, which means we have to cross from kyushu over to honshu. Took us almost 4 hours, not including waiting and transiting time, of traveling. Since I am the one who planned this trip, I felt very responsible for any of my mistakes. Any mistake could cause us to miss the train or pay extra. Luckily, there was none. But the stress was very hazardous to my health. Anyway, we made it to our ryokan, lugging our luggage and all. It was raining when we arrived, and we had no idea how to get to our ryokan from the subway station. Then an angel arrived in the form of an obasan who lead us all the way to our ryokan despite the pouring rain. Thank god for her.

Day 5

Our stunning breakfast. I consider it my best breakfast in the entire trip.
Left to right, top to bottom: Ochazuke (you got to add rice and hot green tea to the raw fish mixture, absolutely heaven), pickled radish in mayo, mentaiko (fish eggs), pickled burdock root, marinated air dried fish (i think), squid chopsticks holder!
Obasan preparing the ochazuke for us.

It is raining in Yobuko, so there goes our asaichi morning market. I was so looking forward to the sea urchin sashimi.

At the bus terminal, waiting for the showa bus to ferry us back to Karatsu. The ryokan's mini-van sent us to the bus terminal. Once again, unfaultable (is there such a word?) service.

Back in Karatsu, we found this super huge pink omu-man (i call it omu-man). I poked it's eye!haha.

Our mini-train to hakata.

Went back to retrieve our luggage we left with Kashima honkan.

Transfer to Kyoto at Shin-osaka. Very stressful. Maybe i should take out a insurance policy for stress-free vacation. Yeah.

Pouring in Kyoto, MacDonald's for dinner. I was a depressed kid. My cousin on the other hand was absolutely jumping for joy when she saw MacDonald's. Talk about different. haha.

Ohto Ryokan. We were given a tiny little room on the ground floor. Really tiny but thank god it's on the ground floor. i don't think i can lug our luggage up the stairs. Japanese stairs are really steep.

Three futons completely fill up the floor space of our room. Our really tiny room.

End.
