On to Osaka day 9 and 10.

Ahh...This is starting to get draggy. haha. My will to preserve the quality and the punctuality of my blog has weakened. haha. It's hard to keep the patience to wait for the pictures to upload. And it is a hassle to arrange them chronologically. And to try to give interesting captions to the pictures, etc etc. Owell. Here goes.

Day 9

Day 9 is mostly a traveling day too. We had to take the 1 and half hour train ride down to Shin-osaka, then transfer to Osaka, then go look for our ryokan. Thank god for the rainless day.

We woke up at 5.30 in the morning to catch the morning prayers that are held in the main assembly at 6.30. It's not much really. Lots of chanting and kneeling. Followed by breakfast at 7.30. I love breakfasts.
A very vegetarian japanese styled breakfast. Hmm.

Then we took a walk round the temple and we found a backdoor way into the temple, which consist of walking terraced steps cut into the mountain, supported by rotting wooden planks. Needless to say, it was against my will to walk on such uninsured pathway. My cousin seems very happy though.
I can barely smile. haha.
We checked out at 10am and caught a bus down to the train station.

Arriving at Namba station, we came out to grab some lunch and do some shopping. Shopping here is no fun. How fun can it be when you see made-in-china everywhere. Anyway, we came into this polished restaurant that chiefly serves okonomiyaki.

Gyoza. Very flat and very crispy.
Mixyaki. It comes with beef, prawns and eggs.An eggy salad with huge croutons. After some shopping, we had tea! O, I love eating! See this yummy thing?
This is a strawberry pastry. Chilled sandwiches. Not great but I had this weird craving for it. So i bought it.Green tea milk tea. Something only my mum would attempt.I realised that i didn't take many pictures after that because there really wasn't much, except that we had dinner at this traditional sushi restaurant where you have to sit at the counter and order from the chef himself. Super cool. The sushi we ate are really good too. Anago, hotate, chutoro, tai and clear fish soup. hmm.

Day 10

We stayed at Kameya ryokan, which translates roughly into龟屋. It's quite a relieve to us because we can finally sleep on a western bed. The bathroom is quite pleasant too. This is taken outside our ryokan. I realised I have this weird obsession with benches. I just find them so attractive.

Breakfast was cup noodle! haha. I couldn't resist. This is lunch. My new favourite: Tenzaru udon!!Yan had Katsu don with a mini udon. My mum had unagi don with a mini udon. This restaurant specialises in udon, obviously. haha.

Next, we went on to shop at shinsaibashi, where we really shopped. And we chanced upon this cute little pastry shop. Okay cakes with beautiful designs.
A orange themed cake. It comes with the tea set.

Yeah, we look retarded. We are actually trying to figure out the map when my mum suddenly took out her camera and demanded a picture.
Fried noodle, similar to what we have in Singapore. Ahh, a taste of home.
Erm, this is a pancake sort of dish. It has lots of tau gay in it.
It's real vietnamese food here. The chefs are from Vietnam after all.I don't regret one bit. Back to Kameya ryokan for the night. Goodnight!
